Virgin Falls (Martha’s Pretty Point)
Virgin Falls State Natural Area is in Sparta, TN which is about 2 hours from Nashville. The Virgin Falls Trail is around 9 miles if you include the offshoot to Martha’s Pretty Point. If you’re going to do this trail, then you absolutely must do this side trail. The overlook at Martha’s Pretty Point is definitely one of the best in the state. Oh yeah, at the end of the trail is the massive Virgin Falls waterfall. So if you do the whole trail, then you get to see 2 amazing sights.

Lookout Mountain is a mountain ridge in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is the best place on the mountain to get amazing views of the Chattanooga area. You can drive right to the park, so there is no need to hike to get the scenic views. Parking can be difficult as you must parallel park on city streets and pay the meters. If you’re in the area though, it’s well worth the visit.
The Signal Point Trail starts at Signal Point which is part of the Chattanooga metro. The trail is long, but as it’s an out and back you can stop whenever you want. There are multiple overlooks along the way with unique and scenic views at each. The trail can be challenging as it’s very technical with quite a bit of elevation change. Signal Point itself has amazing views, so you don’t even need to hike the trail to see an overlook.

Fall Creek Falls is one of the busier state parks so plan accordingly. Many weddings take place here because of the fantastic scenery.
Laurel Gulf Overlook on Stone Door Trail
The Stone Door Trail is part of a long trail system in the South Cumberland State Park. Part of the trail is the Laurel Gulf Overlook. This overlook is only 1.5 hours from Nashville and is worth the drive. The views are fantastic and not to be missed. The park also has multiple waterfalls worth viewing as well.
